Rent Ferrari 296 in Dubai

If you want to rent a Ferrari 296 in Dubai, you can choose between two versions of the same car: the 296 GTB coupé and the 296 GTS with a folding hard top. Both share Ferrari's plug-in hybrid V6, a compact mid-engine layout and a playful, agile character that suits drivers who enjoy the act of driving as much as the attention a Ferrari brings. It is a good match for city cruising, coastal drives and a longer run out to the mountains.

What makes the Ferrari 296 special

The 296 was the first Ferrari road car with a V6 engine, and the first time Maranello paired a six-cylinder with a plug-in hybrid system. The name tells the story: 2.9 litres and six cylinders. The 120° twin-turbo V6 produces around 663 cv on its own, and an electric motor placed between the engine and the gearbox adds about 167 cv, for a combined 830 cv. Ferrari's engineers nicknamed the engine the "piccolo V12" because of its smooth, high-pitched sound, and it is far more musical than many people expect from a six-cylinder.

The 7.45 kWh battery allows roughly 25 km of electric-only driving at up to 135 km/h. That is useful in Dubai: you can leave a hotel driveway or a quiet residential area in near silence, then switch to full hybrid power once you reach the open road. The eManettino switch on the steering wheel lets you choose between eDrive, Hybrid, Performance and Qualify modes.

The design is compact and clean, with a short wheelbase and styling cues that Ferrari links to the 1963 250 LM. The 296 GTB is the fixed-roof coupé. The 296 GTS adds a retractable hard top that opens or closes in about 14 seconds, at speeds of up to 45 km/h, so you can enjoy the evening air and close the roof again when the midday sun gets too strong.

GTB or GTS: which one to choose

Performance figures are almost identical, so the choice comes down to how you want to use the car.

  • 296 GTB (coupé): a slightly stiffer, more focused feel and a cabin that stays cooler on hot afternoons. A good choice for summer rentals and for drivers who mainly care about handling.
  • 296 GTS (spider): open-air driving along the coast and better for photos and videos, especially in the cooler months from November to March, when evenings in Dubai are ideal for top-down driving.

Tell us which version you prefer when you request a quote; availability of each version is confirmed on request.

Driving a Ferrari 296 in Dubai

Dubai's roads are wide, well kept and easy to navigate, which makes them a pleasant setting for a supercar. A few routes our customers often enjoy:

  • Sheikh Zayed Road: the main artery past Downtown, the Burj Khalifa and the skyline towers, best enjoyed at night when the buildings are lit up.
  • Jumeirah Beach Road: a slower, scenic drive along the coast past the beaches and the Burj Al Arab, ideal for the GTS with the roof down.
  • Palm Jumeirah: a short loop along the trunk and crescent, with views back towards the Dubai Marina skyline.
  • Hatta and Jebel Jais: for a longer day trip, the roads to Hatta and the climb up Jebel Jais in Ras Al Khaimah offer curves and mountain scenery where the 296's agility really shows.

Please remember that speed limits are strictly enforced in the UAE and the main roads are covered by speed cameras. The 296 is enjoyable well below its limits, and the electric mode makes slow traffic in Downtown or Dubai Marina easier and calmer.

Occasions for renting a Ferrari 296

The 296 is a versatile choice for many plans during your time in Dubai:

  • Weddings: an elegant arrival for the couple, with the GTS looking particularly good in photos.
  • Business trips: a discreet but memorable way to arrive at meetings, hotels or events.
  • Photo and video shoots: the compact, sculpted shape works well for content creators, brands and personal shoots.
  • Birthdays and anniversaries: a gift experience for yourself or someone close to you.
  • Proposals: a sunset drive along the coast or to a desert viewpoint, followed by the big question.

If you only need the car for a few hours, see our page on how to rent a Ferrari by the hour or by the day.

Ferrari 296 vs Ferrari F8

The closest alternative in the range is the Ferrari F8, a mid-engine Ferrari with a pure twin-turbo V8 and no hybrid system. Both cars reach 100 km/h in under three seconds, but they feel different. The F8 has the classic V8 character and a slightly longer, more relaxed feel at speed. The 296 is shorter, sharper and more modern, with instant electric torque, a silent electric mode for city driving and a higher combined power output. If you want the familiar V8 soundtrack, the F8 is the natural pick; if you are curious about Ferrari's hybrid era, the 296 is the better fit. For the most powerful plug-in hybrid in the range, there is also the Ferrari SF90.
